MAP International is run by graduate-student organizers serving two-year terms, guided by a Board of Trustees of former organizers and a Board of Faculty Advisors.
Gwendalynn Roebke
Co-Director · They/Them
Fifth-year PhD candidate and interdisciplinary scholar in the University of Pennsylvania's Philosophy Department. Their work, while broadly defined as anti colonial philosophy, explores hermeneutics, affect, trauma, violence, agency, and wellness. Their dissertation project weaves together several traditions, moving between Indigenous Philosophy, Critical Black Studies, Caribbean Philosophy, and Latin American Studies. When free from their academic duties, they enjoy cozy gaming, crafting, and reading and writing poetry.
Giannis Vassilopoulos
Co-Director · He/Him
Second-year PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. Giannis works in social philosophy and ethics, with a focus on feminist and LGBTQ philosophy. Before co-directing Minorities and Philosophy International, he served as Chair of the Graduate Student Council of the American Philosophical Association and as Graduate Student Liaison on the APA Committee on LGBTQ People in the Profession. His research has been supported by the Onassis Foundation Scholarship, the Benjamin Franklin Fellowship, the Jonathan Lax Scholarship, and the Point Foundation Scholarship, among others. Outside of philosophy, he has released three albums as a lyricist and is currently working on a fourth one.
Yau Wen Li

Second-year Masters student at Colorado State University's Philosophy Department. Their interests are in environmental ethics, aesthetics, and love. They are currently working on their thesis on loving changing places. Outside of philosophy, Wen Li loves rock climbing with her kitten, learning new instruments, playing Catan, and is getting into the world of triathlon.
Shayanuthaa Indran
Organizer · She/Her
Third-year direct-entry PhD student at the University of Western Ontario. Her research interests include pregnancy and vulnerable populations in clinical research, feminist ethics, philosophy of race, philosophy of gender, ethics of reproduction, improving reproductive health care access, autonomy and consent-making capacities, and trauma informed care. Outside of philosophy, she enjoys performing as a Carnatic vocalist and veenaist, reading comics, deep diving into pop culture, and spending time with friends.
Danni Deans
Organiser · They/Them
Third-year PhD student at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Their work explores feminist and decolonial ways a marginalised netizen might navigate social media and how to stop oppressive social hierarchies, that exist offline, from being reproduced online. Outside of research, they enjoy making visual art, poetry, cooking (and eating!) food and reading fiction that reddit finds too woke.

Policy on Statement-Making
Chapters are welcome to issue public statements consonant with MAP's mission, representing the majority or consensus views of their local members. MAP International does not make public statements about specific events in the profession, but writes briefs, reports, and how-to guides that provide institutional guidance.
The governing document of MAP International: the structure of the organization, the roles of directors and organizers, and the procedures by which decisions are made. We are preparing the current text for publication and will post it here shortly.
